Full-time, in-person

Ki Hydrogen is an early-stage climate tech startup pushing the boundaries of the future of hydrogen production, with ambitious aims to reduce the energy required for green hydrogen through a novel, proprietary technology called biomass electrolysis. In order to realise this goal, we’re hiring mission-driven engineers who want to make a real tangible impact on climate change.
You’ll be a key early hire working closely with the founding team to drive and scale the technical development, with a focus on product and the leap from lab to commercial demonstrator.
The ideal candidate will bring a broad chemical engineering background and have previous experience building pilot projects from the ground up. You’ll need to be able to wear many hats including high level strategic thinking, process engineering, co-ordinating external contractors and practical hands-on expertise. You’ll primarily be based at our industrial site at Tyseley Energy Park, Birmingham - part of a growing community of hydrogen and climate focused businesses and working alongside the founding team. From time to time, you’ll need to travel to our core laboratory at Scale Space in White City, London working alongside the wider team.
In return, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities, flexible working hours, and a flat management structure; where trust and equality are at our core. We offer a competitive compensation package, combined with a share options scheme and the opportunity to grow your skills in the direction that matters to you most. In addition to hybrid and flexible working, we run regular group activities including table tennis, climbing & escape rooms throughout the year (open to your suggestions!).
Working in a startup is fast-paced, engaging, and requires wearing multiple hats across R&D, engineering, business, management, and strategy. You’ll need to be comfortable working with novel technology, but know where to avoid reinventing the wheel and provide industry standards.
